Fast, Easy, Cheap: Pick One

Just some other blog about computers and programming

T3A?!

“Today’s 3 Awesomes”, “Things 3 Awesome” ? I think I must be getting dense, because I don’t understand this acronym at all. If you don’t know what I mean, I’m referring to Anton’s recent blog. Anyhow, I don’t think much “awesome” stuff has been going on lately around these parts, although the long weekend was a pretty nice break. Now it’s back to working long days on my project, which is now in the UI stages. I’m still not confident in the algorithm working for a large number of cases but nevertheless, I plow on ahead in the name of progress!

Anyhow, despite their lack of awesomeness, here’s my 3 awesome things for today:

  1. Adobe Acrobat 8. It’s about a billion times faster than Acrobat 7. I read a lot of PDFs in a given day, books, articles, papers. Faster = better.

  2. Well, technically I finished working on this photo last night and posted it then, but I believe it was after midnight, so fair game. I shot it while out on the weekend for this week’s FredMiranda.com theme “Geometric”. I am working on a new post-processing technique in Photoshop and this image is one of the first results. I’m quite happy with the look. This one is called “Implication”:

3. My Japanese class. Well, not strictly a class since it’s just me one on one with the teacher. Arguably the best lessons I’ve ever had for anything ever (is that assertive enough?). She’s a really great teacher and I always learn a lot, and the lessons are always fun and full of laughter. It makes Tuesdays one of my most looked forward to days during the week. Probably one of the things I will miss most when leaving here.

One thing that’s not so awesome is the visual HTML editor in Blogger. What the hell were they (Google Blogger employees) thinking when they designed this crap? It hardly handles formatting worth a damn. I might just start blogging in Google docs and then upload.

Wow, that wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. sigh succumbed to another web / blogging cliche.
