What's Wrong With the World Today...

Just some random thoughts:

I read today about an EU Commission directive called “1677/88”. It’s around seven pages long, and more words than many important documents governing the very basis of our society such as the US (or Canadian) constitution, Magna Carta, Geneva Convention, or the Treaty of Versailles.

So what does it say? Well, one of the points is that the curvature of a cucumber cannot be more than 10 mm per 10 cm length if the cucumber is to be sold as a Class 1 product.

Huh?

Yes, that’s right. It’s a seven page document defining the standards for cucumbers sold in the EU. It’s certainly reassuring to know that our world leaders are focusing on the important issues.
